Yvette Canizares

Yvette Canizares, dearest and beloved wife of Dr. Felipe Canizares, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 24, 2026, with her family at her side in her 89th year.

She was born on Sunday, May 30,1937 in Larochelle, Quebec, Canada, and was the daughter of the late Henri and Georgette (Nourry) Prince. She is preceded in death by two brothers, Yvon and Réjean Prince, her brother-in-law, Luis Canizares, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Luis and Sara Canizares; and her friend Chris Alvarez. In her earlier life, Yvette was a talented and appreciated teacher; however, the center of her life always rested with her family. She was and always will be cherished deeply by her devoted husband Felipe, as well being eternally loved by her four daughters and eight terrific grandchildren with all their hearts. She was unfailingly kind, generous, and empathetic to everyone she met. She found joy in hiking, traveling, and spending time with those she loved. She and Felipe often brought the family together, where they shared countless memories traveling, eating great food (including many Reese’s peanut butter cups) and playing dominoes. Yvette was a talented seamstress, who made wedding dresses and costumes for her daughters and grandchildren. She will be remembered for her resilience, ingenuity, creativity, and her remarkable ability to solve problems, whether tackling a challenging Sudoku puzzle or navigating everyday life.


In addition to her husband Felipe of almost 65 years, she is survived and will be sadly missed by her children, Marie (Tom) Paragian, Sylvie (Brian Gold) Canizares, Yvette Louise (Renato Chicco) Canizares, and Isabel (Gary Hull) Canizares; plus, eight grandchildren, Sara Gold (John Lenz), Kyle (Jenn Nguyen) and Kristin Paragian (Matt Clewell), Dylan and Ryan Gold (Christina Morris), Carlo Chicco, and Maya and Connor Hull; and her sister, Réjeane (Jacques) Demers, brother-in-law, Lorenzo (Gladys) Canizares, and friend Reinaldo (Jeanne) Alvarez.

Yvette, you will be forever on our minds and forever in our hearts!
