Wilson "Jerry" Bishop

Wilson “Jerry” Bishop, 81, of Hanover, beloved husband of Kathy L. Riley Bishop passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at UPMC Hanover.

Born on Thursday, May 18, 1944, in Waynesboro, he was a son of the late Wilson Mark Bishop and Alese Margaret Raby Bishop Holland. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Patricia King and Sandy Merrill. Jerry was a veteran of the United States Army and worked for Rest Haven Cemetery and Marburg Memorial Gardens for many years. He loved fishing and spending time with his dogs. Jerry also enjoyed oldies music and classic movies.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of nearly 36 years, are his three children, Kimberly Bishop Alascio and her husband, Angelo, Nathan McKeldin and his wife, Kimberly, and Jerome “Jerry” Bishop and his wife, Pauline; five grandchildren, Lauren Smith and her husband, Cory, Emily Alascio, Angelo Alascio III, Abigail McKeldin, and Oliver Bishop; one great grandson; one great granddaughter on the way; two siblings, Bonita Shorb, and Michael Harbaugh; and numerous nieces and nephews

.A service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service from 10 AM to 11 AM. Burial will be in Marburg Memorial Gardens following the service.
