Willis J. “Will” Myers, 91, formerly of Hanover, peacefully entered into God’s eternal care on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center in Columbia, MD.
Born on Friday, October 19, 1934, in Hanover, he was a son of the late John D. and Clara E. (Berkheimer) Myers. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife of 61 years, F. Virginia “Ginny” (Doss) Myers, who died in 2016; and three siblings, Jane Maus, Robert Myers, and Gladys “Toni” Reck.
Will was a 1954 graduate of Eichelberger High School, member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Littlestown, and active member of the Littlestown chapter of Rotary International. He was respected for his integrity and hardworking nature.
Along with his wife, he founded Willis J. Myers Floorcovering in Littlestown, a company they managed together from 1967 to 2004, which has now continued into its second and third generation of family ownership. Will and Ginny traveled extensively, visiting such locations as Acapulco, Alaska, Brazil, Israel, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and San Francisco. They took many trips to Central Florida and enjoyed quiet time at the family Conewago Creek cabin. Will also had a great love for dogs and was known for always having one by his side.
Survivors include his sister, Helen Klunk of Hanover, and his children and their spouses, Willis and Denise (Garrett) Myers of Hanover, Crystal Myers and Randall Horst of Columbia, and Mike and Mauri Myers of Hanover; his second family—children of deceased brother-in-law, Bradley Doss—Dan and Ginny Doss, as well as Edward Tipton and his wife Caitlin; grandchildren, Janelle, Benjamin and Alex Myers, Sarah (Dillon) Shue, Jerome Dillon, Skylyr Johnson, and Mira and Emry Tipton; great-grandchildren, Kaylee Dillon, Cash, Ezra and Jameson Summers, and Mason, Dillon and Madilyn Shue.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 8 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway in Hanover, and, at the church, one hour prior to the Mass of Christian Burial, which will be held on Tuesday, December 9 at 12 noon at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5125 Grandview Road in Hanover. Burial will follow at the St. Aloysius Church Cemetery.
