William E. "Bill" Yingling, Sr.

William E. “Bill” Yingling, Sr., 80, of Hanover, beloved husband of Marleen Slagle Yingling, died on Sunday, May 10, 2026 at his home.

Born on Sunday, December 30, 1945 in Hanover, he was the third of six children of the late Joseph W. and Helen Spielman Yingling. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Jim, Tom and Jay Yingling. Bill attended Hanover Public Schools and was employed by local farmers, Kauffman Gulf Service Station, Sheets Truck Center, a Bradenton, FL Esso, Yingling Trucking, Hanover Terminal, Reinbold Trucking and Arentz Oil Service. He also did quality new construction, remodeling, electrical and concrete work. Bill was a lifetime member of the Clearview Fire Company No. 3, which was partially founded by his uncle, Charles Spielman.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Bill Yingling, Jr. and his wife Pam, Joseph Yingling, Shantel Reinbold and her husband, Paul, all of Hanover, Heidi Smith and her husband, Phil, of Spring Grove, and Michael Yingling of Jonestown; a brother, Wendell Yingling and his wife, Mary, of Erie; a sister, Sandra Amato of Murrells Inlet, SC; seven grandchildren, Eric, Erica, Brooke, Justin, Hannah, Megan and Cody; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway in Hanover with Pastor Doris Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends at viewings at the funeral home from 6 to 8:00 PM Monday and one hour prior to the service.
