Sheila Bowers

Sheila Bowers, 55, of Hanover, beloved wife of Richard Joseph Bowers, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at UPMC Hanover.

Born on Thursday, September 17, 1970 in Baltimore, MD, she was a daughter of John Anthony Steiner and his wife, Doris Steiner and the late Shirley Ann Yelton. Sheila was a 1988 graduate of Hanover High School and spent time working for R.H Sheppard. She enjoyed crafting, watching football and cooking shows, but most of all she loved spending time with her husband and dogs.

Surviving, in addition to her husband of 15 years, are two step children, Joe Bowers and his wife, Kimberly, and Sasha Bowers; four step grandchildren, Dominic, Taylynn, Isaac, and Ciara Bowers; two siblings, Sherry James and her husband, Benjamin Nieves, and Howard James and his wife, Thristin; three step siblings, Kimberly Wright and her husband, Mark, Woody Yelton, and Christina Steiner; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Following cremation, a gathering of family and friends will be held from 2-4 PM on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover.
