Richard F. "Dick" Little, Sr.

Richard F. “Dick” Little, Sr., 87, of Hanover, beloved husband of Linda Little, peacefully entered into God’s eternal care on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at his home.

Born on Sunday, June 27, 1937 in Hanover, he was a son of the late John Franklin Little and Caroline Belle Shriner Little. He was also preceded in death by a brother John “Sam” Little; and two sisters, Eleanor “Suz” Schreiber and Linda Cuffley. A 1955 graduate of Eichelberger High School, Dick worked for his father at Silver Top Bottling Works in Hanover and spent many years as a route salesman for Utz Quality Foods. He attended Gettysburg Baptist Church and was a member of the Hanover Republican Club and the McSherrystown Loyal Order of Moose #720. Dick enjoyed gardening, playing the steel guitar, travelling to Nashville, going to baseball games with his sons and brothers, taking Utz bus trips to see the New York Yankees play, anything affiliated with John Deere, auctions, flea markets and thoroughly enjoyed going to the World’s Largest Yard Sale, which stretched from Ohio to Gadsden, AL. He truly loved spending time with his beloved dog, Lucy.

Surviving, in addition to Linda, his loving wife of 19 years, are three children, Richard F. “Rick” Little, Jr., and his wife, Ann, of Hanover, Michele R. Einig and her husband, Keith, of Camp Hill, and Ben A. Little of Hanover; two step-children, William Morin and his wife, Gerlie, and Karen Altland of York; two brothers, James Little and his wife, Virginia, of New Oxford, and Gary Little of Hanover; ten grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 7:00 PM Monday, May 19, 2025 at Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway in Hanover with The Rev. Bill Mummert officiating. The family will receive friends at a viewing to be held one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice of Hanover & Spring Grove, 440 N. Madison Street, Hanover, PA 17331.
