Peggy Ann Williams

Peggy Ann Williams, 96, of Hanover, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 24, 2026 at UPMC Hanover.

Born on Friday, March 28, 1930 in Hanover, she was the daughter of the late John Malcolm Sterner and Romaine Stonesipher. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Robert L. “Rab” Williams, who died in 2014; grandson, Brent Williams; and brother, John Sterner. Peggy was a 1948 graduate of Eichelberger High School and retired from South Western School District after 44 years in the Food Service Department. She was a member of St Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church on Broadway.

Survivors include her two sons, Robert L. Williams, Jr. and his wife, Barbara, and Thomas Williams and his wife, Linda, all of Hanover; three grandchildren, Julie Williams, of Lancaster, Jennifer McCusker, of West York, and Kathy Chittum, of Hanover; and two great grandchildren, Collin and Vanessa McCusker.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, September 11, 2026 at the chapel inside Town Hall at Homewood Living Plum Creek, 425 Westminster Ave, Hanover, PA. Burial will be held privately.
