Pauline Y. Hoffacker, 99, of Hanover entered into God’s eternal care on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at SpiriTrust Lutheran – The Village at Utz Terrace.
Born on Saturday, January 15, 1927 in Oxford Township, Adams County, she was a daughter of the late William E. and Anastasia (Kuhn) Yingling. She was also preceded in death by her husband of nearly 58 years, Burnell C. Hoffacker, who died in 2006; a sister, Mary K. Berkheimer; five brothers, Charles, Paul, Eugene, John Yingling and William Yingling, Jr.; and a niece, Janice LaRochelle. A 1945 graduate of Delone Catholic High School, Pauline was employed by Peterman Pontiac Sales and Service in Hanover for 14 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she had been active with the Grandview Seniors. She was a member of the Hanover Mall Walkers and had traveled to all 50 states with her favorite being Alaska, as well as Iceland, Ireland, New Zealand and Australia.
Survivors include two nieces, Paulette Ohm and her husband, Larry, and Karen Staub; two nephews, John Berkheimer and his wife, Joyce, and Kevin Berkheimer and his wife, Lori; two great-nieces, Michelle Staub and her husband, Jim, and Andrea Lyons and her husband, David; a great-nephew, Patrick Staub; and a great-great-nephew, Parker Lyons.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hanover by The Rev. Cole Mase. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. The family will receive friends at viewings to be held from 6 to 8:00PM Wednesday at Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway in Hanover and at the church one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5055 Grandview Road, Hanover, PA 17331 or to Delone Catholic High School, 140 S. Oxford Avenue, McSherrystown, PA 17344.
