Max W. Hill, 84, of Glenville, passed from this earthly life to his heavenly life on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at Wellspan York Hospital.
Born on Saturday, June 21, 1941 in Parkton, MD he was a son of the late David Frank Hill and Eva Caroline Wyatt Hill. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, June S. Hill, who died April 19, 2020; and eight siblings, Herbert Hill, Elva Davis, Mary Hill, Edith Hill, Jack Hill, Rebecca Davis, Robert Hill, and Walter Hill.
Max was a graduate of Hereford High School and was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Black and Decker and was a member of Hope Baptist Church. Max was a volunteer IPM (International Partnership Ministries) driver and was a life time member of the NRA. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, and great grandfather and was a true friend to all who knew him. Max enjoyed boating, wood working, and was really a jack of all trades. He enjoyed blue grass and playing musical instruments.
Survivors include his four children, Timothy Keith Hill and his wife, Sharon, of North Pole, AK, Lisa Ann Stahler and her husband, Michael, of New Freedom, Amanda “Mandy” Smith and her husband, Brent, of Hanover, and Katherine Marie Rinehart and her husband, Owen, of Hanover; a foster son, Bryan Taylor; 16 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren.
A service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, November 3, 2025 at Hope Baptist Church, 6450 Hope Way, Hanover with The Rev. Dr. Allen G. Harris and Dr. Brent Smith officiating. Viewings will be held from 4-6 PM on Sunday, November 2, 2025 at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover, and on Monday, November 3, 2025 one hour prior to the service at the church. A graveside service will take place at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, 250 Chestnut Hill Rd, York, PA 17402.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Baptist Church, 6450 Hope Way, Hanover, PA 17331, Hospice and Community Care, 685 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17601, or to International Partnership Ministries, 100 Spring Ave, Hanover, PA 17331.
