Mary Elizabeth Noel Lawrence

Mary Elizabeth Noel Lawrence, 86, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at her home.

Born on Monday, May 6, 1940 in York, she was a daughter of the late Mark A. Noel and Miriam C. Staub Noel. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Francis “Fritz” Lawrence, who died in 2004; a grandson, Jerad Settle, who died in 2005; and a sister, Joan Green, who died in 2024. Mary retired from United Defense in 1995 and she also worked at Qualastat Electronics. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hanover and the United Steelworkers Union.

Survivors include her two daughters, Karen Askins, of Lewes, DE, and Lisa A. VanKirk, of East Berlin; five grandchildren, Candice Carbaugh, Adam Carbaugh, Megan Askins, Dustin Settle, and Auston VanKirk; seven great grandchildren; and one sister, Patricia Grube.

A graveside service will be held at 3 PM on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at Conewago Chapel Cemetery, 30 Basilica Drive, Hanover, PA 17331
