Lindy A. Spangler, 82, of Abbottstown, entered into God’s eternal care on Monday, September 8, 2025 at her son’s home.
Born on Saturday, February 13, 1943 in Hedland, Alabama, she was a daughter of the late Omer Ree Johnson and Mary Etta Roney Johnson. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Kent B. Spangler, who died in 2015; three brothers, Junior, Otis and Sonny Johnson; and four sisters, Orie Drew, Vera Enfinger, Alice Lavada and Evelyn Rayburn. Lindy was a former employee of Hanover Industries and Freeman Shoe. She was a member of Paradisus Church of God and enjoyed going to Lewes and Rehoboth Beach to go saltwater fishing with her husband.
Survivors include two sons, Scott C. Spangler and his wife, Rebecca, of Spring Grove, and Kip R. Spangler and his wife, Crystal Hertz, of York Springs; three grandchildren, Christopher S. Spangler, Zachary M. Spangler and his wife, Mickayla, and Lindy S. Cooley and her husband, Alex; five great-grandchildren, Michael S. Altland, Emmitt, Noah and Witten Cooley, and Hunter Spangler; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private service will be held.
