Linda Susan Schott Flinchbaugh, 70 years old, of York Pennsylvania, peacefully entered into God’s eternal care at her home, 795 Locust Grove Road, York, PA on January 27, 2026. Born in York on January 25, 1956, she was the daughter of the late George E. Schott Sr. and Betty C. Harvey Schott.
A 1973 graduate of Central York High School, she pursued a career at the Naval Support Activity in Mechanicsburg, where she continued her education and accomplished several professional certifications. Linda had a passion for travel, and her career gave her many opportunities for that. She retired after 33 years of civilian service as an Information Technology Specialist. Linda's biggest accomplishments and joy throughout her life were her three children and two granddaughters, whom she adored and loved endlessly. She volunteered as a Girl Scout leader, children's Sunday school teacher, and was involved with many parent-school activities, while raising her family.
Linda is survived by her ex-husband and friend, Philip Flinchbaugh, her daughter, Tara and son-in-law, Edward Garay, daughter, Tami, son, Jason and daughter-in-law, Alexis; granddaughters, Helena Flinchbaugh and Evalyn Salley; brother, George “Ed” Schott, Jr. and wife, Doris; niece Marsha, step-niece Melissa, nephew George III “Duke” and wife Barbara; and her long-time companion in later life, Randy Finkey, and their loving beagle Dali.
Linda was a free spirit, always young at heart and most at peace outdoors appreciating nature, whether by the seashore or in the mountains. She drove across the country several times, taking different routes and visiting many national parks along the way. She enjoyed her many motorcycle adventures, camping, boating and trips to Chincoteague, VA. She also enjoyed renovations and fixer uppers, and together with Randy, restored several projects including a cabin in Raystown, PA, and two boats.
In addition to being blessed with her loving family and friends, she was also blessed with her many four-legged family members over her lifetime, especially Gypsy, her constant companion of over 13 years, and her many grand puppies.
In accordance with her final wishes, there will be no services. She asked that her life be celebrated by her loved ones at their discretion, enjoying memories shared and a toast to a life enjoyed and to a new life beyond this world. Her legacy is love – pass it on.
Memorial contributions can be made to any no kill animal shelter.
