Lillian “Dolly” (Owen) Ross, 95, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at Homewood Living at Plum Creek.
Born on Thursday, May 7, 1931 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, she was the daughter of the late George Henry Owen and Patience (Wookey) Owen. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Willis P. Ross, who died in 2017; and three brothers, William “Bill” Owen, George Owen and Alfred Owen. Gifted with her hands, she enjoyed knitting, quilting, and doing crafts of all kinds, and playing cards with friends and family. Dolly was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church.
Survivors include three children, Scot Ross and his partner, Joy, of Huntington Beach, CA, Gayle Julian and her husband, Wade, of Sykesville, MD, and Tracy Baker and her husband, Charles, of Marriottsville, MD; eight grandchildren, Stephanie, Mia and Ryan Ross, Dylan Julian and Alexandra Galbraith and her husband, Seth, and Daniel Baker and his wife Heather, Hunter and Sierra Baker; six great-grandchildren, Ashton, Laila, Scarlett, Evelyn, Preston and Kai; a brother, Reginald Owen and his partner, Maggie, of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on July 31, 2026 at All Saints Episcopal Church in Hanover with The Rev. Carenda Baker officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to All Saints Episcopal Church for the church memorial garden, 890 McCosh Street, Hanover, PA 17331, to the Homewood Living at Plum Creek Benevolence Fund, 425 Westminster Avenue, Hanover, PA 17331, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
