Irene P. Kovalcik, 100, of New Oxford, entered into God’s eternal care on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Cross Keys Village – The Brethren Home Community.
Born on Wednesday, July 4, 1917 in Uniontown, she was a daughter of the late Andrew J. and Sophia Wolinski. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Anthony J. Kovalcik; and a son, Thomas A. Kovalcik. Irene was a graduate of St. John’s High School in Uniontown and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in New Kensington. She was a retired employee of Kaylor Manufacturing in New Kensington, where she had worked for more than 20 years.
Survivors include her daughter, Barbara M. Otto and her husband, Thomas, of Hanover; four grandchildren, J.T. Otto of Pittsburgh, Emily Otto Shah and her husband, Saumil, of Maryland, and Tony and Stephen Kovalcik both of New Kensington; and two great-granddaughters, Nina and Sara Shah.
A memorial mass will be held in New Kensington at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your local SPCA or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
