With hearts full of love, we celebrate the life of Hayley Teresa Mell, who passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Johns Hopkins Medical Center. Born on November 16, 2011, in Colorado Springs, CO, she was the cherished daughter of Larry and Holly Mell.
From the very beginning, Hayley was a fighter. Diagnosed at just three years old with Ataxia Telangiectasia, she faced every challenge with courage, humor, and an unshakable determination. Though her illness created obstacles, Hayley never let it define her. Instead, she filled her 13 years with laughter, love, and a radiant spirit that inspired everyone around her.
Hayley had a gift for finding joy in life’s little moments. Her quick wit and unforgettable one-liners could bring smiles and laughter even in the hardest of times. She was fiercely independent—often declaring, “I’ll do it by myself”—and she carried that strength proudly.
She loved stuffed animals, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and cheering for the villains in Disney movies. More than anything, Hayley loved people. Her compassion and ability to love unconditionally left an imprint on every life she touched. To know her was to know true joy.
Hayley’s light lives on in her parents, Larry and Holly, her beloved brother, Chance, and her grandparents, Lance and Teresa Domzalski.
A private graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 22, 2025.
