Garland J. “Jay” Rhyne, Jr., 75, of Hanover, husband of Andrea “Andi” Rhyne, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 1, 2026 at his home.
Born on Monday, July 31, 1950 in Baltimore, he was a son of the late Garland J. Rhyne, Sr. and Mary Ann (Kalchik) Rhyne. Jay was a US Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and was a Technical Support employee for Century Link. He was a member of the York-Adams Game and Fish Association and the Hanover VFW Post # 2506.
Along with his wife of 50 years, Jay is survived by his grandson, Eric V. Hufnagle, II and his companion, Brooke Hess; two great-grandchildren, Keagan Hufnagle and Eric Hufnagle, III; a sister, Jill Grey and her husband, Steven; and a brother, Jan Rhyne. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a step-daughter, Kristen Keyser; a step-son, John Richard Keyser, Jr.; and two brothers, Jack and Jamie Rhyne.
There will be a gathering of family and friends from 2 to 4:00 PM on January 17, 2026 at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway in Hanover.
