Frederick K. Bolinger, 88, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care on Sunday, October 12, 2025 at UPMC Hanover.
Born on Friday, June 11, 1937 in Wells Tannery, PA, he was a son of the late Frederick G. and Mary A. (Anderson) Bolinger. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Judith A. Bolinger, who died in 2012; a son, Todd Bolinger; a sister, Geraldine Zimmerman; and a brother, Kenneth Bolinger. Fred began teaching for the South Western School District when it was formed in 1956 and retired after 34 years of service. He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, where he sang in the church choir, the Hanover Community Singers, the Pennsylvania State Educational Association (PSEA) and the National Educational Association (NEA). Being musically gifted, Fred enjoyed playing the piano and singing. In addition, he also took great pleasure in oil painting, playing tennis, and being outdoors.
Survivors include two sons, Keith Bolinger of Lancaster and Mark Bolinger of Glenville; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on October 24, 2025 at Trinity United Church of Christ, 116 York Street in Hanover. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
