Frederick M. “Fred” Becker, 90, of East Berlin, peacefully entered into God’s eternal care, surrounded by loved ones, on Friday, May 29, 2026, at his home.

Born on Saturday, October 19, 1935, in Buffalo, NY, he was a son of the late Frederick William and Marian Rosenberger Becker. He was also preceded in death by his treasured wife of 68 years, Joan H. “Jo” (Riek) Becker, who died on February 27, 2025; a son-in-law, Jan Rittner; and a sister-in-law, Carol Serth. A graduate of Kensington High School in Buffalo, he attended the University of Buffalo and proudly served his country in the US Marine Corps having spent time in Okinawa, Japan. Fred was a former employee of Sperry Univac, Datapoint, and Wang Laboratories. He was a renowned field technician and later retired as a branch manager. He was a former member of Paddletown United Methodist Church in Etters and was a dedicated volunteer with Metropolitan Ministries in Tampa, FL. Fred will be long remembered as an avid Buffalo Bills fan.

He also leaves behind a beautiful family who he loved beyond measure.

His daughter, Laurene Mylar and husband Van; and their children, Honore and Grayson and his wife, Abbey.

His son Fred, and wife Cindy; and their children, Matt Hennessey and wife Tiffany, Jessica Watts and husband John, Fred and wife Amy, and James and wife Shannon.

His son Bill, and wife Barbie; and their children, Megan Passeri and husband Rob, Lindsay McConnell and husband Matt, and Jacob and wife Katie.

His daughter, Leslie Rittner; and her daughter, Heather Grace.

His daughter, Mary Jo Duvall and husband Tim; and her children, Kate and Sabrina, as well as their future sons-in-law, DJ and Anders.

His brother, Robert Becker and wife Vicki.

As well as 16 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren that were his pride and joy.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway in Hanover with The Rev. Kenneth S. Heasley officiating. Military honors will be rendered by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
