Fred Hansen II

After the first stop on his last motorcycle trip to the Smoky Mountains, Fred decided to take an alternate route: the pathway to Heaven. We now have a guardian angel with the biggest heart watching over us.

Fred Hansen II, 76, beloved husband of Marlene E. Bream Hansen passed away peacefully on Monday, May 18, 2026 at Princeton Community Hospital in Princeton, WV. He was born on Saturday, July 30, 1949, in Hanover, to the late Frederick A. Hansen and Blanche Rohrbaugh Hansen.

Fred was a 1967 graduate of Hanover High School and was employed by P.H Glatfelter as a master industrial electrician for nearly 40 years. In 1985, he started Video Magic and also owned and operated Subway in E. Berlin from 2002-2007. Fred was a veteran of the United States Navy serving four years. He led a life marked by steadfast commitment to his loved ones and a heart full of adventure and joy. Fred cherished family above all else, always placing them at the center of his world. He relished family trips across the United States—skiing through the scenic landscapes of New England, basking in the sun on Myrtle Beach, and sharing unforgettable experiences at Disney World. These moments defined the joy and meaning of his life.

An avid enthusiast of outdoor activities, Fred enjoyed dirt bike riding alongside his sons. His love for camaraderie extended to motorcycle excursions with his friends and adventurous four-wheeling trips in Maine at his brother’s cabin. His legacy is one of unwavering devotion—to his family, his country, and his passions. Though he has departed from this world, the memories of his kindness, enthusiasm, and love will continue to inspire those who knew him.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of 52 years, are his three sons, Frederick Hansen III and his wife, Rebecca, Charles “CJ” Hansen and his wife, Jaime, and Seth Hansen and his wife, Danielle; six grandchildren, Mallorie, Naomi, Gage, Oaklie, Holly, and Rowyn; his brother, Tom Hansen; and several nieces and nephews.

Following cremation, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
