Eva M. Cooley

Eva M. Cooley, 87, of Hanover passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at Hanover Hall Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Born on Monday, June 13, 1938 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Raymond Lee Sager and Minnie (Krumrine) Sager. She was also preceded in death by her loving companion of 33 years, William Myers, who died in 1999; a brother, Russell Sager; and a sister, Betty Staub. Eva was a 1956 graduate of New Oxford High School and had worked for the former Coulson Heel Company before retiring from Shultz Foods. She enjoyed playing the lottery and BINGO, and was an avid Baltimore Orioles fan who loved all animals. However, her greatest pleasure was spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter, Susan C. Pittenturf and her husband, Melvin, of Hanover; two grandchildren, Brian Pittenturf of Hershey and Brittany Pittenturf of Las Vegas, NV; four great-grandchildren, Danielle Cockrell and her husband, JJ, of Whitehall, AR, Hannah Pittenturf of Cherry Hill, NJ, and Asher and Ashton Pearson, both of Las Vegas; a sister, Katherine Byrn of Crandall, IN; and several nieces and nephews.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, February 20, 2026 at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway in Hanover with The Rev. Bonnie J. Whittier officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
