Esther H. Germuth

Esther Heim Germuth, 97, of Cross Keys Village, entered into God’s eternal care on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at The Brethren Home.

Born on Monday, October 17, 1927 in Cabot, PA, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Elvia Smith Heim. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Roland F. Germuth, who died in 2021; and as the last of her generation, her two sisters and three brothers. Esther was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on York Street in Hanover. Gifted with her hands, she loved quilting, a passion she had for many years. She also enjoyed spending time with family and would do the cooking for most of the family gatherings.

Survivors include three children, Suzanne G. Butler and her husband, Wayne, of Hanover, John Roland Germuth and his wife, Linda, of Millville, DE; and Mark Douglas Germuth of Wilmington, NC; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on August 29, 2025 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 127 York Street, Hanover, PA 17331 with The Rev. Dr. Daniel M. Yeiser officiating.
