Elvera C. Hertz, 99, formerly of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at The Village at Sprenkle Drive.
Born on Sunday, June 9, 1918 in Patterson, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Rudolph and Catherine Fitzpatrick Ververs. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Raymond M. Hertz, Sr., who died in 1997. Elvera was a 1938 graduate of St. Joseph Academy and was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was a retired employee of Bon-Ton.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathy E. Berkheimer and her husband, Dave, of Portland, Oregon and Raymond M. Hertz, Jr., and his wife, Jayne, of York; two grandchildren, Steve Hertz and Dana Hoff and her husband, Cliff; and three great-grandchildren, Ian and Griffin Hertz and Alexa Hoff.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am Thursday, December 21, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church celebrated by The Rev. Joseph F. Gotwalt. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery. The family will receive friends at a viewing to be held from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday at the Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover, with a prayer service beginning at 8 pm.
