Dorothy Watson Bockoven

Dorothy Watson Bockoven, 97, of Hanover, PA, passed away peacefully at Homewood Plum Creek on October 10, 2026. 

She was the loving wife of the late Thomas Sanford Bockoven, Sr. for 58 years until his passing on May 1, 2020. 

Dorothy was born on April 7, 1929 in New Haven, CT and was the daughter of Estelle and Frederick Watson. 

She is survived by her beloved son Thomas S. Bockoven, Jr. and her daughter Carol W. Bockoven. 

Dorothy graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design and worked for Vogue as a fashion illustrator upon graduating. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker for many years. In her seventies she picked up her paint brush again and created many beautiful paintings for her friends and family. 

She made many many friends, over the years in Maryland, DC, and Pennsylvania, and truly treasured them. 

Her terrific sense of humor sustained her and those around her. 

Homewood Plum Creek Care Central was her home for the last year and a half and she was so grateful for their help and true caring. The staff made her their friend and she truly appreciated all of them. 

A memorial gathering will occur at a later date.
