Dorothy I. Smith, age 88, of Hanover died December 16, 2010 in San Antonio, TX. She was the wife of the late T. Emerald Smith who died February 24, 1964.
Born May 25, 1922 in Adams County, she was the foster daughter of C. Edgar and Myrtle M. Lawyer. Graduating with the first class of the Hanover Practical Nursing Program, she spent her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse, retiring in 1985. She attended Hanover Evangelical Brethren Church.
Surviving are three children, Ronald Smith of Portage, PA, Jervis Smith of New Oxford, PA and Lois Wingate of San Antonio, TX; 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 23, 2010 at Rest Haven Cemetery with Pastor Paul M. Bundy officiating. Per Mrs. Smith’s wishes, there will be no public viewing.
