Donald "Brownie" Brown

Donald “Brownie” Brown, 79, of New Oxford, beloved husband of Jacqueline Hoffman Brown, passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Hanover Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born on Tuesday, July 9, 1946 in Hanover, he was a son of the late John Brown and Romaine Reichart Brown. He was also preceded in death by a son, Mark Brown; and a sister, Patsy Underwood. Donald was a 1965 graduate of Hanover high school and was a veteran of the United States Army. He owned an operated Donald Brown Painting for over 50 years. Donald had a great love of the outdoors- he was happiest with his hands in the dirt. He loved gardening and was a great story teller.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of nearly 60 years, are two children, Melissa Hoster and her husband, Robert, and Neal Brown and his wife, Kelly; seven grandchildren, Michael Brown and his wife, Gaby, Katie Hoster, Lexis Fajardo and her husband, Juan, Clay Brown, Grant Brown, Corbin Brown and his wife, Jenna, and Connor Brown; six great grandchildren, Everleigh, Stella, Karmyn, Isla, Elena, and Camilo; three siblings, Sterling Brown and his wife, Ginny, Charmaine Bell, and Shirley Mummert and her husband, Barry; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held privately.
