Deborah C Hockensmith

Deborah C. Hockensmith, 69, of Hanover, beloved wife of Donald F. Hockensmith, entered into God’s eternal care on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Hanover Hospital.

Born on Saturday, March 13, 1948 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Clair and Avrill Stahl Newman. She was a graduate of St. Joseph Academy, and attended Sacred Heart Basilica. Deborah was a life member of S.A.V.E.S.

Surviving, in addition to her husband of 49 years, is a daughter, Daria C. Bass and her husband, David, of Florida; two grandchildren, Megan and David; and a sister, Gloria Bismore of Vermont.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Sacred Heart Basilica, 30 Basilica Drive, Hanover, with The Rev. Joseph R. Howard celebrating. The family will receive friends at a viewing to be held from 6 to 8 pm Friday at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover, followed by a recitation of the Rosary at 8 pm.
