David E. Dell

David E. Dell, 73, of Abbottstown, loving husband of Urith “Tui” (Eveler) Dell, entered into God’s eternal care on Friday, April 17, 2026 at York South Nursing & Rehabilitation.

Born on Monday, January 12, 1953 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Paul L. Dell, Sr. and Jean E. (Malehorn) Dell. David was a graduate of Hanover High School and was a former employee of Littlestown Pattern Works and Anvil International. He was a member of the Hanover Home Association and enjoyed racing. Moreover, his greatest joy was spending time with his family. He took all the grandchildren to the beach, teaching them how to fish, build sandcastles and taking them on boat rides. “Pappy” absolutely loved his big, loud family and showed that love to all of the children and grandchildren in his extended family as if they were his own.

“Pappy” was, without question, one of the most Christlike individuals that many have ever known. He loved people the way love was supposed to look: quietly, consistently and unconditionally. Not one who wanted to be in the spotlight, he just wanted to make sure that those he cared for were taken care of. A life fully given to others - that was “Pappy”.

In addition to “Tui” his beloved wife of nearly 30 years, is a brother, Paul L. Dell, Jr. and wife, Sandy; a sister, Norma Williams; seven step-children, Michelle Bailey and husband, Scott, Amy Riley and husband, Derek, Amber Lombardi and husband, Ray, Bonnie Hoffman and husband, Mike, MeLinda Kint, Scott Miller and Melissa Oakes; 12 step-grandchildren, Jared and wife, Trai, Peyton and husband, Brian, Dalton, Austin James, Dakoda and wife, Amy, Leah H., Kylee, Kirsten, Wyatt, Leah M., Elijah and Skyland; two step-great-grandchildren, Reign and Scarlett; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on May 30, 2026 at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway in Hanover with Mr. Ryan Smith officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Four Diamonds Fund by visiting fourdiamonds.org in memory of a granddaughter, Jenn Bailey.
