Daryl A. Mummert

Daryl A. Mummert, 92, of Hanover, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at her home.

Born on Friday, May 5, 1933 in Hanover, she was the daughter of the late Blanton Gabriel Scheivert and Anna Madeline Good Scheivert. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, K. William “Bill” Mummert, who died in 2012. A 1951 graduate of Eichelberger High School, Daryl later graduated from the York Hospital School of Nursing in 1954. She was a registered nurse having worked at Hanover Hospital and later in the office of Dr. James Miller. Daryl was also employed for many years at the Sears & Roebuck Auto Center and at CVS Pharmacy. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, volunteered as a Gray Lady at Hanover Hospital and will be long remembered as a lucky, but skillful, card player. Moreover, her greatest joy was spending time with her family on their frequent beach trips.

Survivors include a daughter, Lisa A. Hart and her husband, George “Suds”, of Abbottstown; a son, Michael A. Mummert and his wife, Lizabeth, of Frederick, MD; five grandchildren, Adam Hart and his wife, Jessica, Seth Hart and his wife, Maddie, Collin Mummert and Jenny Peak, and Eliza Mummert; one great-grandchild, Abrie Hart; and her three beloved cats, Pudgy, Buddy and Tommy.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 17, 2025 at Trinity United Church of Christ, 116 York Street in Hanover with The Rev. Julian Hall officiating. Burial will be held privately at Rest Haven Cemetery.
