Daniel David "Dan" Ebaugh

Daniel David “Dan” Ebaugh, 87, of New Oxford, passed away Monday, August 31, 2026 at Cross Keys Village- the Brethren Home Community with his daughters at his side.

Dan was born June 25, 1939 in Hanover, the son of the late Paul David and Elizabeth Mae (nee Carrill) Ebaugh. He was a 1957 graduate of Eichelberger High School in Hanover, Bucknell University, and received a MBA degree from Hood Graduate School.

Dan joined the IBM Corporation in 1961 in Harrisburg as a Systems Engineer and went on to spend the next 40 years in various senior level positions. In 1984 he was selected to participate in the IBM Executive Loan Program to teach one academic year at a college. His choice was to teach at Bacone College in Oklahoma; a college with a large number of American Indians. Working for IBM, he always felt that he had the best job he could ever have.

Dan was a member of Gettysburg Presbyterian Church and served both as a Trustee and as a Stephen Minister. He went on many missionary trips both domestically and abroad. His hobbies included collecting coins and participating in and coaching sports. He played basketball, tennis, and skied into his fifties, and pickle ball and golf into his eighties. He was an avid reader and a volunteer at both Hanover and Gettysburg Library. He loved history and geography as well as traveling (48 states, 25 countries). He served on the boards of Adams County Habitat for Humanity, the Adams County Office for Aging, and the Gettysburg Historic Church Tours. He especially enjoyed volunteering at the Gettysburg National Military Park Visitor Center and battlefield, which he did for over 20 years.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents; and son in law, Dave McDonald. He loved his family and loved spending time with them. He is survived by four daughters, Julie McDonald, of Mt Airy, MD, Jennifer Ebaugh of Evans City, PA, Kay Braden and her husband, Ken, of Mt Airy, MD, and Amy Ebaugh, of Havre de Grace. He has six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Following cremation, services were held privately.
