Carmen Lourdes Ramos, 68, beloved wife of Hector Luis Ramos, Sr., entered into God’s eternal care on Friday, May 9, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born on Friday, October 5, 1956 in Ponce, Puerto Rico, she was a daughter of Alejandra Rodriguez and Monserrate Maldonado and the late Santiago Maldonado. She was also preceded in death by a half brother, Junior Rosa.
Carmen spent most of her career as a social worker for Adams County Headstart, but in 2018 became a pastor with APJC, inc. (Fountain of Life Church), where her husband now leads the congregation. Carmen’s favorite verse that she always carried with her was Luke 10:27.
Carmen was a cherished beacon of love and light. She leaves behind a legacy imbued with kindness, faith, an unwavering commitment to family and community. Carmen was a woman deeply rooted in her faith, a foundation that guided her through life and radiated into the hearts of everyone she met. Her devotion to God was nothing short of inspiring, serving as a testament to her character and the way she lived her life each day. Those who were fortunate enough to know her often found solace in her gentle presence and uplifting spirit. She will be remembered for her incredible role as a wife, mother, and grandmother. Her love for her family was boundless and unconditional, and she dedicated herself to nurturing and supporting them in every possible way. Carmen’s ability to connect with others was profound, especially with children, who gravitated towards her warmth and kindness. She had a special knack for making each child feel valued and heard.
Surviving, in addition to her husband of 51 years, are five children, Hector L. Ramos, Jr. and his wife, Noemi, Damaris L. Guevara and her husband, Gabriel, Alex N. Ramos and his wife, Jadylee, Silka E (Ramos) Harding, and Luis R. Mendez, Jr. and his wife, Delilah; 22 grandchildren; a sister, Zulma E. Mendez; two brothers, the Rev, Jamie Saez and his wife, Carmen, and Luis R. Mendez, Sr.; and eight half siblings, Norma, Prebis, Maribel, Cathy, Julio, Francisco, Ivette, and Javier Rosa.
A viewing will be held from 10 AM- 11AM on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at Southeastern Adams Volunteer Emergency Services ( S.A.V.E.S ) Co. 29, 5865 Hanover Rd, Hanover, PA 17331 with a service to be held from 11 AM until 1 PM. Burial will take place in New Oxford Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fuente de Vida, PO Box 404, New Oxford, PA 17350.
