Brian M. “Mixer” McMaster, 71, of Hanover, Pennsylvania, and most recently of Goose Creek, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at home on December 11, 2025. He lived life with enthusiasm, humor, and heart. Brian made every moment count. His laughter, gift of gab, and love of life will be remembered always by his family and friends. Brian’s memory will forever bring a smile to those who were lucky enough to know him.
Born November 6, 1954, Brian was a 1972 graduate of Spring Grove Area High School. He took great pride in his work as a mason and finish carpenter, dedicating much of his career to Hoffheins Brothers Inc. He later worked for the York County Assessment Office and, after relocating to South Carolina, worked at Lowe’s Home Improvement.
Brian’s passions were many: watching NASCAR and dirt track racing, Penn State football, the Orioles, and the Steelers. He loved riding motorcycles, family trips to Disney World dating back to 1971, the Smoky Mountains, cruises, and Christmas vacations in Bermuda. Brian shared his love for snowmobiling and the outdoors with many as a certified safety instructor for the Pennsylvania State Snowmobile Association. Brian cherished the many friendships he formed as a member of the Hanover VFW Post #2506, Spring Grove VFW Post #5265, Hanover Republican Club, Hanover Moose Lodge #227, Hanover Home Association, and Hanover Eagles Aerie #1406.
He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Janet (Harpster); only child, Travis and their husband Jeremy; brother, Scott and his wife Tina; sisters, Kathy and her husband Jerry Ulrich, and Laura and her husband Brian Taylor; 19 nieces and nephews; his beloved dogs, Bailey and Josie; and grand dogs, Annabelle and Dakota. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Sr. and Naomi Hoff; brother, John Jr.; and sister, Linda Sandruck.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Brian’s memory to Berkeley Animal Center in Monks Corner, SC ([www.casberkeley.org](http://www.casberkeley.org)) or Agape Care Group Hospice Carnation Foundation ().
The family will host a celebration of Brian’s life at a later date in Pennsylvania, where he will be honored with love and laughter.
