Betty L. (Cromer) Mort

Betty L. (Cromer) Mort, 73, of Hanover, beloved wife of Kenneth E. Mort, died Monday, May 26, 2025 peacefully at home.

Born on October 14, 1951 in Culpeper, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Annie Marie Hilt and Ross G Cromer. She was also preceded in death by her infant son, Douglas Marsh; and her sisters, Barbara (Cromer)Lehman and Shirley (Leake)Roth.

Betty was a life member of the Women's Auxiliary Hanover VFW post 2506. She was also a member of Hanover AMVETS Post #22, the Hanover Home Association, the Hanover Moose #227, the Hanover American Legion Post #14, the Hanover Eagle riders 1406, the Saxton VFW Post 4129 and the Saxton Sportsmen Association. She was an avid card player with her women's group and enjoyed many weekends with family and friends at their cabin on Lake Raystown.

Surviving, in addition to her husband of 29 years, are two sons, Scott Marsh, of Hanover and Travis Foreman, of East Berlin; a brother, George Cromer, of Hanover; a sister Brenda (Cromer) Myers, of Hanover; four grandchildren, Brayden Marsh, Hayley Marsh, Austin Foreman and Autumn Foreman; a nephew, Steven J Roth, of Nokomis, Florida; a niece Vicki Fringer, of West Chester; a step son Keith Mort , of Thomasville; a step daughter Helen Parkins, of Spring Gove; and numerous loving step grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 11 AM on Monday, June 2, 2025 at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover. The family will receive friends at a viewing to be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at the Hanover VFW Post 2506 following the funeral.
