Arlene Dubbs

Arlene Dubbs, 92, of Hanover, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at UPMC Hanover.

Born on Thursday, March 1, 1934 in Taneytown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Fern Edward and Neomia Ann (Bowers) Baumgardner. She was also preceded in death by her husband of nearly 67 years, Merle E. Dubbs, who died in 2019; and two brothers, Leroy and Larry Baumgardner. Arlene retired in 2000 from Farley’s Jewelers and was a former employee at Sears in Hanover. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ and enjoyed playing golf at South Hills Golf Club and cards with her friends.

Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Kress and her husband, Terry, and Christine Frederick and her husband, Lance, all of Hanover; two grandsons, Benjamin Kress and Tyler Frederick; three great-grandsons, Matthew Kress, and Jordan and Logan Frederick; a brother, Lester Baumgardner; and a sister-in-law, Doris Baumgardner.

A private service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
