Allen L. Otey

Allen L. Otey, 90, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at Spiritrust Lutheran- The Village at Utz Terrace.

Born on Tuesday, October 15, 1935 in Maryland, he was a son of the late Curtis Otey and Mary Uthermalen Otey. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Margaret “Maggie” Otey, who died in 2023; his two siblings, Larry Otey and Virginia Wantz; and a nephew, Stephen Wantz. Allen was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and enjoyed travelling.

Survivors include his nephew, Mark L. Wantz and his wife, Susie; a great niece, Michelle McDonald; a great nephew, Christopher Wantz; and two great-great nephews, Brandon and Andrew Wantz.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 PM on Friday, May 22, 2026 at St, Joseph Catholic Church, 5125 Grandview Road, Hanover. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the mass. Burial will be in St. Aloysius Church Cemetery in Littlestown.
