Winifred N. Mehring

May 14, 1934 - June 10, 2019

Winifred N. “Winnie” Mehring, 85, of Mechanicsburg, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 10, 2019 at her home. Born on Monday, May 14, 1934 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Wilson A. and Irene Senft Nace. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Owen H. Mehring, who died in 2014; and a sister, Delores Fairall. A 1952 graduate of Eichelberger High School, she graduated from the Lutheran Hospital of Maryland School of Nursing in 1955. Mrs. Mehring was a registered nurse with Hanover Hospital for 21 years, retiring in 1989. She was later employed by the East Pennsboro Branch of the Fredricksen Library. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Shiremanstown. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she enjoyed following her grandchildren’s activities. Survivors include a daughter, Julie Krepps and her husband, Robert, of Camp Hill; a son, David O. Mehring of Mechanicsburg; four grandchildren, Chelsea Deesing and her husband, Jon, Abbey Krepps, Samuel Krepps and his wife, Aubrey, and Noah Krepps and his wife, Maura; and a great-granddaughter to be born soon. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Hanover with The Rev. Sarah M. Keilholtz officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11 AM Saturday at the funeral home. Winnie would like for all her friends and loved ones to know she was “glad you were in her life”. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cleve J. Fredricksen Library, 100 N. 19th Street, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
