Stephen H. Stambaugh

December 18, 1946 - February 25, 2022

Stephen H. “Steve” Stambaugh, 75, beloved husband of Bernice D. (Flickinger) Stambaugh, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 25, 2022 at home surrounded by his family. Born on Wednesday, December 18, 1946, he was a son of the late Henry G. and Mildred Caldwell Stambaugh. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Sandy Hemler. A 1965 graduate of South Western High School, Steve enjoyed working outside at home and spending time with his family. He retired from Abbottstown Industries after being employed there for nearly 40 years. He also enjoyed tractors, hunting, camping and sprint car races. Surviving, in addition to his wife of 30 years, are two children, Toni (Stambaugh) Lewis and her husband, Todd, and Terry Stambaugh and his companion, Paula Harrold; two step children, Denise (Marchio) Culp and her husband, Mike, and Shawn Marchio and his wife, Holly; six grandchildren, Ashly (Stambaugh) Lehr and her husband, Jeremy, Kelsy Stambaugh, Justin and Adam Culp, and Tucker and Skyler Marchio; four great grandchildren, Collin and Kamdyn Lehr, and Audrianne and Javian Robinson; four siblings, Susan (Stambaugh) Snyder and her late husband, Kenneth, Stanley “Spark” Stambaugh and his wife, Pat, Sid Stambaugh, and Sharon (Stambaugh) Leber and her husband, Jeff; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral will be held Thursday, March 3, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc. 311 Broadway, Hanover. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to VNA Hospice of Hanover & Spring Grove, 440 Madison Street, Hanover, PA 17331 or a charity of the donor’s choice.
